Several questions.  I purchased an 07 Automatic JK with a Hesco S/C on it today, and have no information as to what, if any, ECU mods have been made.  Is there any way for me to tell?  I am guessing there have not been any changes as I get the traction control and throttle warning lights if applying any hard throttle.  Also when pushing the throttle hard it hits redline and holds there a few seconds before it shifts to second, but by this time the warnings are going off anyway.

I have read on here that the RPMs go up so quickly that the tach can't keep up so I can hit the redline RPM before it is indicated on the gauge.  Does your new ECU flash do anything as far as adjusting the rev limiter, or does it just make it so that the throttle light doesn't come on?   It would be nice to be able to take advantage of the extra power and have some quick acceleration times, but if I have to baby it to get from gear to gear that won't happen.

Regardless the extra power on a lifted jeep on 35s (with 4.88s) on the highway is eye opening.  Apply a little throttle at 80 MPH and you're at 95 before you know it, something unheard of in any lifted wrangler I have previously owned.  Not a regular occurrence of course, but impressive!

I would like to get your ECU flash.  If I send my ECU to you for your flash, then go to the dealer for the TPS update, will the dealer update overwrite your flash?

This is my daily driver, so I can't be without it long.  Would it be possible to purchase a flashed ECU from you, and return my stock ECU for credit to avoid downtime?

What is the cost for the ECU update, or is it considered part of the kit?

What do you charge for a Unichip with a tune for your S/C?

Anxious to get this thing running without any hiccups!

Thanks!
Brandon

It would help me to know who the kit was sold to as some had upgrades.

The PCM reflash is not part of the kit price. Although the new kit does have the reflash included in price. The new or second PCM is not included.

The UniChip won't cure the throttle light.

To get the second PCM; I need some numbers off the stock PCM in your vehicle. The PCM is located in the left front of the engine compartment and should be able to be read without taking out.

A second PCM with program and freight is $829.00 in US, add $150 for out of US.

Ok, I'm going to ask for an acronym explanation here. What is "ESC"?

I wonder if the flash I had done for the transmission temperature TSB this month included whatever you were saying?  Since that flash was done, the transmission shift points were changed and the lockup point and OD was changed (it no longer will lockup under 30).  It has mostly eliminated the TPS trip, mostly. I can still cause it to happen, but now I have to work at it. This last trip for warranty work also included a map sensor replacement... it was causing a P0108 code.  I now have 74000+ supercharged miles (86000+ total), and it is still going strong.

ESC = electronic stabilization control. This keeps all the wheels from spinning at once if on slick surface. The supercharger makes the PCM think it is slipping because it will accelerate quicker than normal non supercharged.

The factory had so many complaints that they had to redo the program that is effected.

Why would you work hard at making the TPS trip?

The MAP sensor replacement might have been unnecessary as the bleed device that the MAP sets on will show a false code. If it ran better after then it might have had fuel blown in and will cause failure.

Well, I don't really work hard to make the TPS trip.... I have had it happen once since the last flash.  It used to consistently trip going up a small hill to the level where the house was.... the transmission would be in 4th/lockup at 40mph... bog down going up the hill, downshift to second... and set the TPS light.

Now, the jeep is in 4th no lockup at the same speed, so when it bogs a bit going up the hill, it just downshifts to third and goes right up, no trip! (That lockup behavior has been my bug-a-boo since day one. I'm glad that has been fixed.)

All that behavior modification I had to prevent the TPS have to be relearned for the new program behavior.  I suppose it is a good thing the jeep programmers are anonymous for the general population.... they'd get their ears full having to deal with actual users.

I have two semi long trips coming up in the next 45 days (900+ miles R/T, and if years past are any reference my annual 5000+ mile vacation trip out west.). That will provide excellent data for mileage changes and overall behavior changes with the new program.
